Focus the Nation Events at Lewis & Clark Law School: January 31, 2008
As a complement to the many Lewis & Clark College events, the Law School Student Lounge will feature food, drinks and a day of events as well, open to all members of the law school community:
9:00: Joe with Joel: Joel Domreis, founder of Courier Coffee Roasters, will treat us to some of his delectable coffee (bring your own mug!)
9:30 : Joel will talk about his sustainable business model, which includes delivering small-batch-roasted beans to businesses by bicycle
10:00: PEAC Attorney Aubrey Baldwin on Fighting New Coal Plants
11:00: Prof. Dan Rohlf on Climate Change and Salmon
11:30: PEAC Attorney Melissa Powers on Clean Cars: Not Quite Yet, an overview of efforts to secure vehicle emissions standards
12-1:30: Sample a locally-sourced, seasonal slice from Hot Lips Pizza and enjoy a mug of locally brewed, organic beer (bring your mug)
12:30-2:30: "Who Killed the Electric Car?" movie and commentary
2:30: Olivia Schmidt, Cascadia Rising Tide (invited)
3:00: L&C Law Alum Brett VandenHeuvel on LNG: The Climate Change Implications of Liquified Natural Gas
4:00 - 5:00: Feast on local, sustainable appetizers from Bon Appetit and sip wine while a Bon Appetit rep discusses the B.A. sustainability promise
