Summer Institute for
International LL.M. Students

To help international students with the complexity of learning advanced concepts in a United States law school, Lewis & Clark has developed a three-week Summer Institute that begins the first Monday in August before the start of the academic year. Topics include a basic introduction to the U.S. legal and governmental system, an overview of the U.S. environmental and natural resource laws, and workshops on legal writing, study techniques, and exam taking. Summer Institute is mandatory for all LL.M. students who did not receive an undergraduate or law degree in the United States, and is highly recommended for all international LL.M. students.
