Kurt Fosso received his Ph.D. in English, with an emphasis in critical theory, from the University of California, Irvine. He joined LC's Department of English in 1995, where he teaches courses on British Romantic literature, classical studies, literary theory, and Victorian literature. His scholarly work focuses upon British Romantic writers, particularly William Wordsworth, whose poetry he explores for its social meaning in Buried Communities: Wordsworth and the Bonds of Mourning (SUNY Press, 2004). Currently, he is writing on the representation of animals in Romantic-era literature and painting.
