College of Arts and Sciences Exploration and Discovery

Explorare, Discere, Sociare:
"to explore, to learn, and to do so together, as a community."

booksAll first-year students, and qualifying transfer students, receive a common foundation through Lewis and Clark's innovative yearlong Core Curriculum course, Exploration and Discovery.

Over the two semesters, students experience the affinity between shared intellectual exploration and individual, discipline-based pathways of discovery. Students also develop and hone their college-level skills in writing, reasoning, critical reading, formal and informal speaking, and research.
