Welcome to the website for Facilities Services at Lewis & Clark College, a service department of over 40 skilled technicians, craftsmen, groundskeepers and support staff charged with the responsibility for operating, maintaining and improving College buildings, grounds, utilities, and related services. Additionally, we have over 30 permanently contracted janitorial personnel. While our principle hours of operation are 7:00 am – 3:30 pm Monday through Friday, we do have a system in place to respond to emergencies and requirements that arise after normal hours. We take great pride in ensuring that students, staff, and faculty at Lewis & Clark College enjoy a safe, clean and comfortable environment for living, learning, and working.

Primary Services

Facilities Services strives to provide the following primary services in an efficient manner to best serve the needs of the entire campus community.

• Provide a safe, productive and nurturing environment
• Maintain buildings, mechanical equipment, roads, sidewalks and grounds through on-going maintenance programs and schedules as well as responding to unplanned situations or emergencies as they arise
• Responsible for stewardship of resources and buildings
• Oversee transportation options including shuttle busses, public transit, carpools, campus parking, van pool rentals and bicycle parking
• Maintain the infrastructure necessary to distribute utilities to the campus as well as producing electricity from a microturbine
• Provide timely and efficient waste and trash disposal
• Monitor campus recycling programs for disposal of cardboard, paper, phone books, magazines, books, cans and bottles
• Provide custodial services for dormitories, academic and administrative buildings
• Set-up and tear-down of special events, dinners, luncheons, student activities, etc.
• Deliver and move furniture, packages, paper and miscellaneous other items throughout the campus
• Provide space planning assistance to departments so they utilize their space effectively
• Provide department support personnel to assist with the completion of service requests and support of department infrastructure
• Maintain automated service request system to respond efficiently to needs of students, faculty, and college personnel.
