Office of Foundation Relations
Coordinating Relationships with Foundations to Advance Lewis & Clark
Lewis & Clark College’s Office of Foundation Relations is the coordinating office for the cultivation and stewardship of all foundation donors to Lewis & Clark College.
Foundation Relations serves as the comprehensive clearinghouse for all Lewis & Clark interactions with foundations. This includes all visits and all requests to foundations, regardless of amount requested or individual requesting. Prior to making contact with a foundation program officer, faculty and staff should contact the Office of Foundation Relations or their assigned development officer. This serves several functions:
• Ensures that multiple individuals, departments, or schools do not apply simultaneously to a foundation without appropriate clearance and review.
• Enables Foundation Relations to provide background on the foundation, including its recent grant-making and any existing relationship with the College.
• Supports effective relationship-building between foundations and the College.
In addition, Lewis & Clark’s Foundation Relations Officer manages the cultivation and stewardship of foundation donors with regard to institution-wide initiatives. These initiatives generally include capital projects and projects spanning two or more Lewis & Clark schools (such as scholarships).
