EDUCATION
The educational leadership program prepares candidates for positions as school vice-principals, principals, superintendents, and administrative support personnel in Oregon and Washington. The following programs are offered:
- Doctor of Education in Leadership
- Master of Education
- Initial Administrator
- Continuing Administrator
School counselors develop skills to deliver comprehensive programming based on national standards in the areas of academic, career, and personal/social development. Candidates develop close relationships with practitioners and faculty in small class settings while learning to promote student, school, and community collaboration through leadership and advocacy. Students can earn and of the following:
- Master of Education (with Initial License)
- Initial License Only
- Continuing License Only
The teacher education program offers a distinctive course of study for future and practicing teachers. Students have extensive opportunities to practice teaching under the careful supervision of mentor teachers.
Future (preservice) teachers can earn master's degrees in:
- Early Childhood Education
- Middle/High School Education
Practicing (inservice) teachers can earn endorsements in:
- ESOL
- Language and literacy
- Math
- Special Education
Master's degrees in Teacher Education are also available in Liberal Studies (M.A.T.) and Special Education (M.Ed.).
