Graduate School Admissions Initial Administrator License

Initial Administrator License-Only Programs

Application Process

Admissions decisions are based on a holistic assessment of an applicant's potential to be a competent, ethical, and compassionate practitioner in consideration of the personal essay, information on relevant service, and life experience, letters of reference, and in some cases, interviews.

Prerequisite

Applicants must hold a master's degree from a regionally accredited institution or the foreign equivalent and must hold an Oregon teaching or personnel service license and have three years of successful teaching and/or personnel service experience in the public schools or regionally accredited private schools. If an applicant has less than three years experience, Lewis & Clark may, after reviewing the application, request a waiver of the state's Teacher Standards and Practices Commission regarding this requirement. In addition, applicants must successfully complete any two Educational leadership Intitial Administrator courses offered at Lewis & Clark Graduate School of Education and Counseling.

Application Requirements

The following are required:

  1. Application Form and Fee
You may use our online application or our paper application. You may also contact the Graduate Office of Admissions to receive an application packet by mail. Faxed transcripts are not considered official by the Graduate School. Graduates of a non-U.S. university system are required to provide officially evaluated and translated copies of all their college transcripts. Official evaluations and translations are done by outside agencies. Information regarding three such agencies can be found by going to Information for International Students.

  5. Grade Point Average (GPA)
