*The Mathematics Endorsement may only be added to an Oregon Teaching License at the Secondary or Middle Level/High School grades. The Continuing Teaching License program requirements are not included in the Mathematics Endorsement program. Application Process
Admissions decisions are based on a holistic assessment of an applicant's potential to be a competent, ethical, and compassionate practitioner. Grades, which can be indicators of ability to perform academic work, are required as part of the application. However, they are considered in conjunction with the personal essay, information on relevant service, life experience, letters of recommendation, and interviews. Application Requirements
Applications and all supporting materials (transcripts, letters of recommendation, essays, etc.) must be received by the Graduate Admissions Office before the file is submitted to faculty for review.
The following are required:
- Application Form and Fee
You may use our online application or our paper application. You may also contact the Graduate Office of Admissions to receive an application packet by mail. Applicants choosing to submit a paper application should include a $50 nonrefundable application fee. The fee is waived for online applications.

- Three Letters of Recommendation
A Teacher Education Program Recommendation for Admission form and a letter must be submitted by three persons qualified to judge your character and scholarly abilities in academic and professional settings. At least one recommendation from a college professor and one from a former supervisor is preferred. References from a personal therapist, family members, or friends are not accepted.
NOTE: Applicants planning to apply for a Continuing Teaching License must include a letter of recommendation from a current principal or supervisor. Please use the Continuing Teaching License Program Recommendation for Admissions form.
- Official Transcripts
Applicants must hold a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution or the foreign equivalent. Official, sealed transcripts must be submitted from each postsecondary institution attended regardless of the length of study or the number of courses taken. Faxed transcripts are not considered official by the Graduate School. Graduates of a non-U.S. university system are required to provide officially evaluated and translated copies of all their college transcripts. Official evaluations and translations are done by outside agencies. Information regarding three such agencies can be found by going to Information for International Students.
- Grade Point Average (GPA)
All applicants must hold a minimum 2.75 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) in their undergraduate degree.
