What services can I expect from Student Health Services?
The staff can attend to most of your health needs, such as: respiratory problems, infections, intestinal disorders, skin problems, allergy injections, overseas vaccinations, medicines, gynecological and physical exams.
What do I do in an emergency situation?
Dial 911. Then, if on campus, alert Campus Safety at ext. 7777.
You may call the nurse consultation service at - 1-800-607-5501. Calls are taken from 4 PM to 8 AM, Monday - Friday and on weekends.

Yes, we respect your privacy at all times. Medical records are strictly confidential and are not released without your written consent.
Is there a doctor on staff?
Yes. There is a physician on staff, available by appointment. Call (503) 768-7165 to schedule an appointment.
Can I get advice on birth control?
Yes. A complete birth control service, including counseling, method instruction and supplies, are available. The morning-after pill is offered to women within 72 hours after unprotected intercourse.
What about pregnancy tests?
Student Health provides pregnancy screening, follow-up counseling and referrals according to individual needs.
What about STD testing?
Student Health provides testing for all sexually transmitted diseases, including anonymous AIDS testing with pre and post counseling.
Will I be charged a fee at Student Health Services?
There is no charge for consultation. There are charges for laboratory tests and medications that are usually covered by medical insurance plans. Familiarize yourself with the medical insurance plan you have.
Can I use off-campus medical services with my Lewis & Clark medical insurance plan?
Yes. Again, it is important to familiarize yourself with your policy's coverage.
What about summer insurance coverage?
Summer coverage is optional, but highly recommended. You must submit an application and payment directly to the insurance company by the deadline given on the application form. Applications are available at the following Chickering web address:
