Services Overview

Students can be evaluated for all health needs. Physicians are available by appointment. Treatment may be administered at Student Health Services or at an appropriate off campus facility.

Women's Clinic

The women's clinic offers complete gynecological services including pelvic exams, STD testing, pregnancy screening, and birth control counseling, method instruction and supplies. The morning-after pill is offered to women within 72 hours after unprotected intercourse.

Student Health Services provides complete, up-to-date advice on travel all over the world. All recommended and required vaccinations are available. The clinic also provides advice on health risks in developing countries. The clinic follows the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta.

General Policies

Comprehensive services are available for all enrolled students (undergraduate, graduate, and law students) who live on or off campus. Each student must have a Medical History Report on file at Student Health Services. The form, which is available at Student Health Services, or online, is usually completed during the admitting process.

Fees

Medications, immunizations, Laboratory tests and other treatments are provided according to a posted fee schedule. There is no charge for office visits and consultations.

Confidentiality

All contacts between the patient and the medical staff are considered confidential and are not released without the student's written consent.

Off-campus medical care

Students may use off-campus medical facilities with the College insurance plan.

Mandatory insurance coverage

During the academic school year, all undergraduate and law students are required to enroll in the College's insurance plan unless they complete the online waiver on the Chickering website showing proof of insurance coverage. Graduate students may enroll in the insurance on a voluntary basis.

Summer insurance coverage

Summer coverage is optional, but highly recommended. You must submit an application and payment directly to the insurance company by the deadline given on the application form. Applications are available at the following Chickering web address:
