As the historian of Washington County, Washington County Historical Society preserves and interprets the history of the county, creating knowledge of the past, linking it to an enhanced understanding of the present, and presenting it in diverse educational formats.

Bring history back to life for students in grade one through eight through an interactive living history programi, Champoeg Promise. Friends of Historic Champoeg is currently looking for interns to work alongside professional instructor/interpreters in delivering Champoeg Promise. They are looking for students who love working with children, interested in history and can work 8-10 hours a week March 1st through June 9, 2005. For more information click here: Champoeg Promise .
