Internships
Student Conservation Association
The Student Conservation Association hosts environmental interships nationwide where you can get hands on experience in the field while giving back something to the world. To learn more, visit their website: Student Conservation Association The Corwin House (Witch House)
The Corwin House, popularly know as the Witch House, is the home of witch trials judge Jonathan Corwin. The Corwin House is Salem's only remaining structure with direct ties to the witch trials of 1692. Corwin House interns report directly to the Director, and have the opportunity to learn all aspects of historic house management and museum education, focusing particularly on public tours, educational programming and, in the fall the production of a seasonal theatrical festival. Examples of other possibilities include cataloguing our collections, planning public programs, explanding publicity efforts and researching grant prospects.
Interships are available year round. Full time internships are offered to current students and recent graduates and students taking a term off, and part-time internships of at least 20 hours a week.
For more information contact Elizabeth Wood at Info@corwinhouse.org. The Oregon Jewish Museum seeks college and university interns who are interested in gaining practical experience in museum work in areas that include collections management, exhibit research, historical research, administration and public relations.
The Oregon Jewish Museum, the Pacific Northwest's only Jewish museum, was founded as a community cultural resource for the entire region, with the mission to preserve the rich cultural heritage of one of Oregon’s earliest immigrant groups. The museum is located in Portland’s Old Town and hosts exhibitions, maintains a library and archive, publishes a quarterly newsletter, and offers a variety of education programs to youth and adults, as well as special lectures and collaborative programs with other institutions. The museum artifact and archive collection is the largest collection of the documented and visual history of the Jewish people of Oregon in existence and is widely used by researchers, scholars and students.
