LCCSSA Career Development Fund
Guidelines:
Am I eligible?
In order to be eligible to receive the career development funds, you must be a member of the Lewis & Clark College Support Staff Association. The funds are not available to temporary employees. What can the funds be used for?
The fund is available for:
"job-related conferences, workshops, training sessions, course work and seminars that enhance the employee's work performance and facilitate professional growth in any potential position the employee aspires to attain at the college. Bargaining Unit Members may also apply for funds to attend college or university courses where such courses are directly related to the employee's current work assignment or to a position to which the employee could reasonable expect to be promoted."

Each grant is worth up to a maximum of $700 and is allocated on a first come, first serve basis. A total of $10,000 is available for career development each fiscal year, with the goal of providing the maximum benefit to the maximum number of people. Employees are allowed to apply for an additional grant if money is still remaining in the fund during the fiscal year. How do I apply?
- Complete the application form in full.
- Attach a copy of the course description and any registration instructions or guidelines
- Provide proof of completion (*required for reimbursement*)
- Send the application to: Career Development, Campus Box 72
What happens to my application?
The Career Development Committee, (consisting of two representative from both the College and the Association) will review the application and course description to determine if the request falls within the guidelines outlined above. If approved, the employee will be issued a reimbursement check. If rejected, you have the opportunity to appeal in writing within 30 days of the decision.
