Greg Caldwell, Director and Associate Dean of Students. Greg has worked at Lewis & Clark for over 30 years. He attended Mars Hill College and the University of Hawaii. He served in the Peace Corps in South Korea and taught there on a Fulbright Scholarship. He led Lewis & Clark's overseas program to Guilin, China.
Brian White, Associate Director of International Students and Scholars. Brian earned his undergraduate degree from Whitman College and his graduate degree in literature at Arizona State University. Brian studied in London, England. He has taught English in China and Japan. Brian led Lewis & Clark's overseas program to Kenya/Tanzania.
Carolyn Locke, Administrative Assistant. Carolyn graduated from Cal Poly/San Luis Obispo. Carolyn worked for 7 years in the Admissions Office before joining International Students and Scholars. Carolyn and her family served as host family to a number of Japanese students over the years. Carolyn has a daughter living in Japan and she has traveled to that country to visit.
Rachael Molitor TCK Intern. Rachael is a junior at Lewis & Clark College and she is double majoring in psychology and Hispanic studies. Although she is a US citizen, until she arrived at Lewis & Clark, Rachael had never lived in the USA. She grew up around the world, living in Ecuador, Sri Lanka, Kenya, India, Sudan and Sierra Leone. Rachael is "Third-Culture-Kid" or TCK.
Mara Pfneisl, Student Assistant. Mara is a sophomore from Avon, Colorado. She is double majoring in international affairs and psychology. In high school, Mara studied on an overseas program in Austria. She spent her L&C spring break to New Orleans. She also spent one summer in Honduras working with disabled children. She is a member of Model UN.
Mary Davis, Flag Protocol Coordinator. Mary is a senior Foreign Languages and Literature major at Lewis and Clark. She is originally from Maribel, Wisconsin but moved to Munich, Germany when shewas 16. Since arriving at Lewis and Clark, Mary has studied abroad in theDominican Republic and Germany. She spends her summers teaching German forConcordia Language Villages.
Jing "Lacy" Lan, Web Blogger. Lacy is a sophomore majoring in Economics. She is from Guilin, China. She is an intern in Lewis & Clark Law School serving the NCVLI. She is very interested in dancing, singing, acting and playing the piano. During her first year, she participated in Dance Extravaganza and Theatre Senior Projects. Reading and writing is also an important part of her life. Melanie Rama, Prospective Student Visit Coordinator. Melanie is a Junior double majoring in economics and mathematics. She grew up in Switzerland, but moved to the suburbs of Chicago when she was sixteen. On campus she is involved with TCK events, the International Fair as co-chair, as a volunteer at NSO and more. She loves to travel and learn about different cultures.
Catalina "Cat" Schnitman, Photographer. Cat is a Music Composition Major. When asked, she will say that she is from “everywhere”. After Lewis and Clark she wants to go to China and Japan and research their instruments, music and culture.
Susan Su, Mailing Coordinator. Susan is an International Affairs major and East Asian Studies minor. Before she decided on her current major, she had a brief stint as a Music major and a Chemistry major. Susan is originally from Beijing, China but has lived in the Seattle area for over 10 years now. She enjoys spending most of her free time baking, reading, enjoying music, and befriending people.
Tali Morrison, Photographer and Blogger. Tali is a sophomore majoring in communication and, perhaps, theatre. She was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica. When not consumed by school work, she spends most of her time dancing, socializing and cooking. "I'm really passionate about my country's culture and I recommend the Caribbean to any avid traveller, especially Antigua, Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago (aside from Jamaica of course)." This year Tali would like to increase the number of places she's visited. She wants to go on the overseas program toAustralia. When she graduates, her ultimate goal is to become a Public Relations Executive. Azusa Miyamori, Events Coordinator. Azusa is a Junior majoring in international affairs. She is from Japan and went to a boarding school in New Hampshire. She loves playing with kids, meditating, kniting and reading. She is very excited to be involved with international events this year. Bonnie Wang, Mailing Coordinator. Bonnie is from Nanjing, China. She is a sophomore, majoring in mathematics. She enjoyed her first year at Lewis & Clark very much, especially working for the Admission Office as an overnight host during spring semester. Bonnie also worked as a Chinese tutor for the SAAB office. She likes swimming, yoga, traveling and making friends with people from all over the world. She always looks forward to meeting new international students and she loves to work, study and explore with them.
Shannon Wu, Mailing Coordinator. Shannon is a sophmore majoring in visual arts. She is Chinese, but grew up in Japan. She is kind of shy when you first meet her, but if you get to know her better, she won't stop talking! She loves sailing, swimming, dancing, cooking, making things (like purses and clothes etc.), and observing people. She is thrilled to meet new friends at L&C, and her goal this year is to "be herself" and to reach out to others. Hae-Hee Joung, Event Assistant. Hae-Hee is orginally from South Korea although she has never lived there. She was born and raised in the land of the Himalayas- Kathmandu, Nepal which she will always call home. She has had the privelege of associating herself with so many diverse and rich cultures and that is what makes her...uniquely Hae-Hee. She is currently a Senior communication major and art minor. She loves meeting new people, visiting new places, engaging in extreme sports and enjoying asian food!
