A Few Words About Privacy and This Alumni Directory
Protecting the privacy of alumni is important to the Office of Alumni Relations. We also want to help you get back in touch with each other. These are competing goals, but we feel we have succeeded in establishing a balance between these goals by making privacy an essential feature of the Alumni Directory.
When you access the Alumni Directory at www.lclark.edu/findlawalumni, you can define a privacy setting for each piece of personal data that is stored. For example, you might want to make your employment information and phone number available to all alumni, but give home information only to your classmates. Each piece of data can be made available to all alumni, no alumni, just your class, or just your “era” (which includes three years before and after your class year—basically all the people who were at Lewis & Clark when you were).
Your profile information will not be available for other alumni to view until August 30, 2004. In the meantime, please log onto the website and set your personal privacy preferences. Alternately, feel free to call 503/768-6607 and let the Alumni Relations staff enter your privacy settings for you. If you do not let us know what information to share, your profile will include: - First Name
- Last Name
- Class Year
- Business Address
- Practice Area(s)
Of course, you’ll always be able to change your settings whenever you like.
Please use the directory with the confidence and assurance that your data is private. We are dedicated to making sure your privacy concerns are addressed, allowing the Alumni Directory to be used safely for its intended purpose—connecting all alums. Requesting Alumni Information
The Alumni office is unable to release personal alumni information. The Alumni Directory allows the alumni office to determine what information can be given to alumni and classmates. Please update your privacy settings, so we can determine what information can be released.
If a profile doesn't contain enough information, you can send a contact request to the Alumni office. Just click on the "Get in touch" link at the bottom of the profile. Your contact information will be sent to that alum. Contact information may be sent by e-mail, phone, or regular U.S. post.
