Purchasing a Computer with Financial Aid

The purchase of a computer may be added to your financial aid one time while you are a law student at Lewis & Clark College. The amount of the purchase will be added to your private loan eligibility for the year. You will receive 'reimbursement' via the two standard disbursements of the private loan in August, for fall semester, and in January, for spring semester. Please weigh whether the long-term financial costs of a larger private education loan are more beneficial than the original method of purchase.

There are several requirements:

  1. The expense will be added to your student budget only once during your law school career.
  2. You must submit the receipt and proof of payment by the student to Student Financial Services.
  3. You must buy the computer within a reasonable time-frame prior to matriculation or once enrolled.
  4. The allowable expense amount is subject to review by Student Financial Services.

If you have financial aid questions, please contact the Law School Student Financial Services representative, Diana Meyer, at (503) 768-7097 or email at meyer@lclark.edu.

The Lewis & Clark Computer Showroom has specially designed computers for students to purchase.

Please note the law school has limited Macintosh support.
