Alternative Dispute Resolution

Description:

Students are offered a conceptual and legal framework, and learn basic dispute resolution skills. The class is a mix of role-play exercises and traditional case discussions. Students participate in seven dispute resolution exercises.

This is a survey course covering all ADR mechanisms and focuses upon the practice and theory of helping to resolve disputes of all kinds without formal litigation and court-annexed procedures. The course emphasizes negotiation, mediation and arbitration and court-annexed procedures.
