School of Law Law School Registrar Course Schedule Environmental Enforcement

Environmental Enforcement*

Description:

This course examines the procedures used to enforce the environmental protection statutes. Topics include civil enforcement, administrative enforcement, criminal enforcement, and citizens' suits. While some attention is paid to state enforcement and relationships between state and federal systems, the focus is mainly on environmental protection statutes administered by the EPA. Because of the procedural emphasis, this course can be useful not only to students with an interest in environmental law, but also to those interested in other regulatory schemes. The class is team taught by Professors Mandiberg and Johnston. There is a final exam.

*Offered every other year
