Law, Science and Environment Seminar

Description:

This seminar examines the often rough intersection between law and science in managing and conserving the environment. Using a variety of federal environmental and natural resources statutes as examples, it explores processes involved in setting regulatory standards, making findings involving science, and adapting to new information and changing circumstances. It also examines specific statutes and topics such as the Data Quality Act, OOMB peer review mandates, scientists as advocates, and the media and science. The class grade is primarily based on a paper; interested students may use the paper to satisfy the A paper requirement.
