Moot Court: Environmental Law

School Competition

During the first eight weeks of Fall semester, students research and submit briefs as appellants, respondents, or third-parties on a problem of environmental law that is prepared by the National Environmental Moot Court Board. Students attend four to six classes on aspects of Environmental Law, Appellate Advocacy and Legal Writing.

Prerequisite or co-requisite: Environmental Law

National Competition

The top three students from the school's internal competition go on to compete in the National Environmental Moot Court competition at Pace University Law School in White Plains, New York. This second level of the competition involves writing a joint brief during the fall semester and then traveling to Pace for oral arguments in February. In past years, our team has done quite well in the national competition, winning the championship in 1994.

Prerequisite: Selected as team representative through school competition

†Students may not earn more than four (4) credit hours in any one skill area
