Externship Classroom Component

Required for all prospective and returning externs, this class meets for 6 hours in the semester prior to the externship, for 20 hours in the semester concurrent with the externship and for 2 hours in the semester immediately following the externship. The exact times of the classes will be announced in each semester preceding the classes, but are generally held on a few Saturdays, and online during the semester.

To register, students planning to apply for an externship will be expected to add the Pre-externship Classroom Component course to their schedules the semester preceding the planned externship. Students who have completed an externship semester must add the Post-externship Classroom Component course the semester following the externship. Credit for the Externship Classroom Component will be issued during the semester of the externship once the Post-externship classes are completed.
