Summer Programs at Lewis & Clark

Girl on lawn - smallSummer at Lewis & Clark is a time for students to focus on just one or two courses at a time, while enjoying the more laid-back atmosphere of our beautiful campus.

Registration for summer courses at the undergraduate College of Arts and Sciences is open to high school graduates, and those attending other colleges.

Academically advanced high school students who demonstrate the ability to succeed in undergraduate courses can attend Summer Sessions after successfully completing a mini application process. Lewis & Clark also offers a pre-college summer writing course and hosts summer camps for K-12 students.

The Lewis & Clark Law School, top-ranked in the country for environmental law, offers courses in environmental law, Indian law, and other general legal topics. A 10-week intensive in Indian Law, a 9-day field course in legal ecology, and a 5-week legal clinic are also offered. Registration is available to law students at L&C or other law schools, lawyers, and other college graduates interested in law.

The Graduate School of Education & Counseling is at its busiest during the summer. Courses are offered for students seeking master's degrees in teaching, educational leadership, educational counseling, and counseling psychology. A wide variety of continuing education courses area also provided for professionals in these fields.

Housing is available for all summer students, except those of high school age who might be attending undergraduate courses.

Spend the summer with us to experience Portland's best season while taking courses in a relaxed environment. Summer Sessions enables you to fulfill your general education requirements in either of two short, six-week sessions. And during the summer we offer our courses at reduced tuition.

We offer a variety of courses—topics include everything from Introduction to International Affairs and History of Music in Film to Beginning Sailing. Our small classes and close student-teacher interaction foster an exceptional academic experience.

The busiest time of year at the Graduate School of Education and Counseling is summer; we offer numerous courses, programs, workshops, seminars and special events for teachers, counselors, administrators, and school psychologists. Session I: Tuesday, May 29-Thursday, June 28, 2007 (Classes meet T-F the first week and M-Th the remaining weeks. Intensives meet T-F the first week and M-F the second week.) Exams: June 29 and July 2

Session II: Tuesday, July 3-Thursday, August 2, 2007 (Classes meet T-F the first week, M-F the second week and M-Th the remaining weeks. Intensives meet T-F the first week and M-F the second week.) Exams: August 3 and August 6
