Science Education Intern Program
Teacher Education Preservice
Lewis & Clark College aspires to be the Northwest's premier center for preparing science teachers within a tradition of liberal arts study. Students holding a bachelor's degree with a science or engineering major-whether recent graduates or professionals making a career transition-may apply to the middle level/high school science M.A.T. intern program. Students benefit from the College's focus on science and the environment and from cooperative arrangements with regional science education programs.
M.A.T. candidates who have a strong interest in science teaching but do not have a degree in science may elect a course of study featuring practica that lead to an initial early childhood/elementary authorization and degree. (See previous section on the early childhood/elementary intern program option in science, mathematics, and technology education).
