Facilities
Math Skills Center
The Math Skills Center functions as an informal resource for students by providing drop-in hours. Students may consult the friendly peer tutors on math related issues they encounter in any Lewis & Clark course. Review of Algebra (Math 055), either lecture or self-paced classes, are also taught in the Center, as one way to meet the mathematics proficiency prerequisite.
Student Study Areas
The Student Study Room is located adjacent to faculty offices, for easy access to the faculty. It features 4 computers, several tables with chairs, a sofa, a blackboard and a small refrigerator for your lunch. All of the computers are newer Macintosh or Windows machines, with the most up-to-date mathematical software available.
Keck Computer Lab
In addition to the many computer labs around campus, the Mathematical Sciences Department has two Linux based labs, thanks to a generous grant from the Keck Foundation. All the computers in the labs were replaced in either 2005 or 2007. They are located in the Olin Center for Physics and Chemistry.
Faculty Members
The faculty members are the best possible resource for the students. The department has an "open-door" policy. Students are welcomed and encouraged to ask questions and seek answers from the mathematical sciences faculty.
