Description: In this five-week class teachers will analyze the art and the science of teaching conventions in effective and meaningful ways for grade 2-6 students. Teachers will discover practical methods for integrating the teaching of conventions into their reading and writing workshops. The class will emphasize the value of using literature as a source for examples, examining student writing to determine their patterns of errors, and teaching students to self-correct during the editing process.

Dates: Thursdays: April 3, 10, 17, 24 and May 1
Time: 4pm - 6pm

Credits: One semester hour
Cost: $250 for non-degree applicable credit
$350 for degree applicable credit
