Bicycling to L&C

Bicycling to Lewis & Clark is done all year round. Using a bicycle provides great exercise for the body and the mind. It increases mental alertness and the body's circulation.

To help you along there are several resources at hand.

  1. I want to ride my bike to school but I live far away.
Tri-Met allows bikes on buses on all routes. Permits are available at the Tri-Met offices at 4012 SE 17th St. and Pioneer Courthouse Square, and various local bike shops. Call the Bike Hotline at 239-3044 or visit the Bikes on Tri-Met web site for more information.

  2. I don't want to ride by myself.
The City of Portland Bureau of Traffic Management's Bicycle Program has maps, guidebooks, and other bike-related information. They can also recommend routes, match biking partners, and access other resources for cyclists. Call them at 823-7082 or 823-7083.

  3. I need a bikeway map.
Again, call the City of Portland at 823-7082 or visit the City of Portland Bureau of Traffic Management's Bicycle Program.

  4. Is there a group in town that I can learn more about biking from?
Sure is, call the Bicycle Transportation Alliance at 226-0676.

  5. Where can I shower?
Showers are available at the Pamplin Sports Center.

  6. Where can I park my bicycle on campus?
