Enhanced law school facilities benefit people, programs
Jennifer Loynd spreads out her patent law research journals, sets down her water bottle, and plugs her laptop computer into a maple table in the main-floor study area of Louise and Erskine Wood Sr. Hall, dedicated February 10.
Before Wood Hall opened in January, Loynd, a third-year law student, staked out study space in Aubrey R. Watzek Library. "Now I can give Watzek back to the undergraduates," she says. "I love it here. I like the spaciousness, the height of the ceilings, and the automatic window shades."

Cow Creek Band of Umpqua gives $150,000
Lewis & Clark has received $150,000 from the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua in appreciation of the labors of Stephen Dow Beckham and Dennis Whittlesey in the settlement of the tribe’s land claims case with the federal government and the negotiation of its successful gaming and entertainment enterprises.

When he walked into the exam room the next day, he strolled to the chalkboard and taped up a caricature of his professors at Willamette University College of Law.
