Overview
NEW FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS
Before you select your courses for fall semester, it is important to read the registration information and to study the Lewis & Clark College Catalog, especially the section on requirements.
I. Information for New First-Year Students
A. May 15-June 13: Submit Academic Advising Questionnaire
B. May 28-29: Priority Registration for one course begins. One 3-5 credit course (no MUP or PE/A courses) of your choice. You will register online for this course. See Choosing Courses and Online Registration Instructions.
Registration appointments for May 28-29 will be randomly assigned to all incoming students. Appointment times will be posted in Web Advisor at My Registration Permissions.
Because class sizes are small and some courses fill quickly, it is in your best interest to register at your appointment time. However, online registration for your first course will remain open through Sunday, June 15th.
If you have not registered online for your first course by June 15th, you should register as soon as possible by emailing or calling the Registrar's Office. Be prepared with a list of several courses in case your first choice section has a waitlist.
C. June 6-8: Submission of preference form for a section of Exploration and Discovery (Core 106). Although the submit preferences web page will not be active until June 6, you may go to 2008 Faculty to learn about the Exploration and Discovery faculty and time each section will be offered.
D. August 29-30 Registration for remaining fall courses:
1. On Friday, August 29, you will have an appointment with your faculty pre-major advisor to decide on the two or more remaining courses for which you will register. When you arrive on campus for New Student Orientation, you will receive a packet with information about your advisor and the time and place of your meeting.
2. Most students register for a total of 16 credits (4 courses) plus any 1-credit activity courses such as music performance, PE, or athletics. Students need to average 16 credits each semester to complete in four years the 128 semester credits required for graduation.
