mlkMartin Luther King Jr. Day of Service

On January 15th, 2007, Lewis & Clark College will join hundreds of thousands of Americans in a day of service.

In 1994, U.S. Congress passed the King Holiday and Service Act, asking Americans of all backgrounds and ages to celebrate Dr. King's legacy by turning community concerns into citizen action. This upcoming January, Lewis & Clark will be joining the nation by sponsoring our first MLK Day of Service.

L&C's Office of Student Leadership and Service is partnering with Ethnic Student Services to facilitate three service opportunities for the L&C community, as well as a reflection to better learn from the service experience. The day will conclude with the traditional MLK celebration in the Agnes Flanagan Chapel.

We would like to invite all members of the L&C community--students, staff, faculty, and their families--from all 3 schools to unite with us in a sentiment of service integral to Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy.
