Research involving Human Subjects
Lewis & Clark College requires that all research conducted by staff, or students supervised by staff, that involves human subjects be reviewed and approved by the Human Subjects Research Committee (for federal purposes, Institutional Review Board) before any of the research is performed. Visit the HSRC website for more information or to download an Application for Approval to Use Human Subjects in Research. This form should be completed and submitted to irb@lclark.edu.
Research involving recombinant DNA (rDNA)
Lewis & Clark College's Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) must review and approve all research and activities that involve rDNA. Please click IBC for additional information.

Research involving Animals
All activities conducted by Lewis & Clark investigators or at Lewis & Clark facilities involving the use of animals must be reviewed and approved by the Institutional Animal Use and Care Committee (IACUC) prior to the initiation of research. The IACUC is responsible for assisting investigators in fulfilling their obligation to plan and conduct animal experiments in accord with the highest scientific, humane, and ethical principles.
