Criminal Justice: Victim Appellate Law Professional Background
Joanna Tucker Davis, J.D., a staff attorney with NCVLI, is employed full time on the Office for Victims of Crime grant, writing briefs and providing technical legal assistance to attorneys representing victims of crime, victim service organizations and crime victims. She is also helping to establish victim assistance clinics nationwide. As an assistant district attorney in Manhattan, Ms. Tucker Davis investigated and tried a wide range of crimes, including violent felonies and cases of domestic violence. She was also a member of the Manhattan District Attorney's Office Sex Crimes Unit, where she prosecuted rape and other sexual assault cases involving crimes perpetrated by strangers, acquaintances and domestic partners.
