Property Transactions
Session II: May 27 - June 30, 2008, 5:30-7:30pm, exam TBD
An examination of the mechanisms of transactions in real property. Emphasis is placed on the purchase and sale of land, and financing the purchase by means of mortgages and substitute financing devices. Topics examined include the role of the real estate broker, title protection through recording and title insurance, drafting of purchase agreements, environmental aspects of real estate transactions, problems of transferring encumbered property, mortgage foreclosure, and remedies of seller, buyer, borrower and lender.
