Trillium FAQ

What about putting images on my site?

Images may be uploaded and displayed on Trillium sites. We encourage academic departments and administrative offices to use images on their sites as a means of conveying information and/or enhancing other content on the site. Here are some guidelines for the use of images on Web sites:

  • Images on department sites should be relevant to Lewis & Clark College. They should be quality photographs saved as jpegs and optimized with professional photo editing software such as Adobe Photoshop.
  • The Department of Public Affairs and Communications maintains a library of campus photographs. Images from this collection may be requested for use on departmental sites. Contact a Web Communications Consultant for details.
  • Consider bandwith issues while preserving the quality of your images. Roughly, no single image should weigh over 50 k, and no single Web page should weigh over 200 k.
  • The Lewis & Clark College shield should never be used on any publication, including Web pages, except under the explicit guidance of the Art Director.
