Understanding Vicarious Resilience in Cultural Context
-
Presenter Pilar Hernández
This presentation for counselors, therapists, and interested members of the community introduces the concept of vicarious resilience. In addition, it examines the social and cultural dimensions of working with those affected by trauma and their mental health providers. Intersections of diversity (class, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, ability) dimensions are explored in clinical practice to offer clinicians a cultural equity framework for practice.
