Professional Biography
Currently a doctoral student and full time faculty member of Lewis & Clark, Melanie Quinn’s dissertation research focuses on the factors that contribute to producing and sustaining education activists. Melanie currently is the program director and L&L cohort coordinator in the pre-service program where she teaches literacy and children’s literature courses . She also co-teaches a teacher research class in the in-service program. A founding member of the Northwest Teacher Research Collaborative and a member of the Lewis & Clark Teacher Education New Teacher Conversations group that reaches out to local school districts with a model of new teacher support to address the high attrition rate of teachers early in their career. Prior to her career in higher education, Melanie was an elementary teacher for 10 years. Academic Credentials
