ESOL Services
District & School Consulting Services for English Language Learners, Indigenous, and Diverse Populations
Services available include:
A 14-semester-hour course of study for licensed teachers, exploring the principles, theories, research, and practice relevant to the needs of students acquiring English as a second language.
Consulting services will be provided for district offices and schools that want to improve or enhance the district Lau Plan, instructional program design for English learners including sheltered instruction and English language development, immigrant parent participation, and community outreach.
Oregon Language, Literacy and Culture Institute (OLLCI)
Designed to assist elementary, middle, and high school teachers in learning current theory and practice in the education of English language learners.
Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) Training
For schools that desire to improve content-area instruction for English language learners. The training is designed for practitioners who wish to increase their knowledge, skills and disposition in teaching diverse populations.
For schools that wish to learn more about diverse students, families, and communities in their schools.
For administrators, teachers, and parents who want to learn about successful school/parent partnership models that support immigrant families.
