Please write an essay on EACH of the following four topics:
1. The Lewis & Clark doctoral program was designed to assist in the development of educational leaders with a commitment to social justice and equity. Share your understanding of those concepts (including references to relevant literature that has helped shape your perspective on leadership, social justice and/or equity.) Discuss your professional engagement and your plans to make this a more just and equitable society. How will advanced study in educational leadership help you realize these goals? (Three page limit.)
2. Discuss an ethical dilemma you have dealt with professionally. As you faced this dilemma what were your options? How did you resolve this dilemma and what did you learn from the experience? How did this experience help shape you as a leader? (Two page limit.)
3. What aspect of educational leadership or policy do you plan on making the focus of your advanced study and dissertation research?
4. We are interested in hearing about one of your significant personal or professional accomplishments that required hard work and perseverance. This could be anything from an athletic success to something you built, to an artistic accomplishment, to success with a challenging academic feat (or perhaps something we haven't even thought of). Please discuss this accomplishment. Share what made this a source of pride as well as what challenges you had to overcome to achieve this success.
