Camille Jarmie camillie_jarmie

Program: Counseling Psychology: Community Counseling
Concentration: Youth Counseling
Co-Director of Professional Development

I grew up in both Santa Barbara and Eugene and pursued Psychology at the University of California, Santa Cruz. In love with how people interact with each other, I began an emphasis in Social Psychology. During my time in Santa Cruz I had several incredible experiences as a Research Assistant and TA, but when I graduated I was still unsure of what professional path I wanted to pursue. I then took four years off to explore areas outside of Psychology including retail management, accounting, personnel administration and event planning. I am now pursuing a Master's of Community Counseling (child and adolescent track) at Lewis & Clark and am employed on the undergraduate campus as an Administrative and Recruitment Coordinator in the Center for Career and Community Engagement. In addition to a professional and school life, I enjoy spending time with my dog, Nara, a rescue Pit Bull who bears a rather close resemblance to the RCA dog. I also spend a lot of my free time outside and seem to have an outdoor hobby for every season...next up, snowboarding!

Emily Humphrey emily_humphrey

Program: Education: MAT
Concentration: Early Childhood/Elementary Education
Co-Director of Community Relations

Though I have only ever worked in the fields of education and childcare since I was an early teen, it didn't cross my mind until my junior year of college that perhaps I should pursue this as my career. After that realization, I began taking classes on alternative education and critical pedagogy, and since have become interested in politics in education as well as the difference between equity and equality in educational practices. At Western Washington University I received a BA from Fairhaven College titled, "Empowerment of the Individual through Alternative Education and Art Expression." While in Bellingham, WA I also worked as an art teacher for K-8 and a middle school literacy and math teacher. I am now working towards my Masters of Teaching in Early Childhood and Elementary Education and hope to be in a classroom next fall! Aside from school and working, I love to go on walks with my dog Henry, play board games, watch unintentionally bad television and eat food.
