Help Desk

helpdeskThe IT Help Desk, located on the first floor of the library, provides front-line, face-to-face support for all forms of computer problems. The schedule for the Help Desk is currently Monday through Thursday from 9AM - 9PM, Friday 9AM - 5PM, Saturday & Sunday Noon - 5PM. If they cannot answer your question, they will refer it to the appropriate IT staff member. Services at the Help Desk include:

  • Network and General Computer Troubleshooting
  • Virus Removal
  • Password Changes
  • Backup Assistance
  • General Computing Questions

This is your #1 call in a computer emergency. The Help Line serves as an entry point for all computing problems or questions.

The Consult e-mail account provides on-line support for your computing questions. Send mail to consult when you have a non-emergency question. A Consultant will research the answer if necessary, and reply ASAP. Responses are generally sent out within 24 business hours, depending on the nature of the problem.  There is also a web form to contact a Consultant.

Consultants - 

This is the second tier of support, beyond the IT Help Desk. Call the Help Desk if you’d like to make an appointment for a one-on-one consultation with a consultant.

Field Technicians -

We have certified Mac and PC technicians on staff who are available to assist with hardware repairs for institutional machines, or computers under warranty from Apple or Dell. Contact the IT Help Desk for more information.

Computer Repair -

For computers not under warranty, we have compiled a list of local computer repair shops who may be able to help you out.

Media Services:

Presentation Preparation - Equipment Reservation - x7290

Are you planning to use overheads, video, sound, or a data projector for a presentation? Media Services provides consultation on the media portion of your presentations. This is the number to call to reserve equipment.

You want to integrate multi-media into your academic presentation, but aren’t sure where to start. This is the number to call for multi-media consultation.
