Mr. Barnes H. Ellis
Mr. Ellis received his B.A. degree from Yale University in 1961 and his J.D. in 1964 from Harvard Law School. He is currently a trial lawyer at Stoel Rives in Portland, Oregon, and he practices in the area of business litigation. Ellis says he’s become involved with the law school because of the high number of new lawyers that come to Stoel Rives from Lewis & Clark Law School. Barnes is a founding member of the Joyce Ann Harpole Legacy Scholarship that was created in memory of a Lewis & Clark alumnae and Stoel Rives attorney. Ellis has a professional interest in defense and is the Chair of the Oregon Public Defense Services Commission. Mr. Ellis received the Honorary Alumnus Award from Lewis & Clark Law School in 1997.
