Mr. Bowen Blair, Jr.
Mr. Blair is a Senior Vice President of the Trust for Public Land (TPL) and former Director of its six-state Northwest Region. He presently serves as National Director of Projects for the San Francisco-based organization. Mr. Blair also founded TPL's Tribal Lands Program, and his contributions include negotiating the return of 10,300 acres of land in Northeastern Oregon to the Nez Perce Tribe, representing the return of the Tribe to Oregon for the first time since the Nez Perce War of 1877. Mr. Blair received his B.A. from Yale University and his J.D. in 1980 from Lewis & Clark Law School, where he served as an editor of the Law Review and published his paper, "Native Americans vs. American Museums: A Battle for Artifacts", in both the American Indian Law Review and the American Indian Journal. He is a recipient of the Law School's Distinguished Environmental Law Graduate Award.
