Mr. David S. Case

caseDavid Case received his B.A. in 1966 from Whitman College and his J.D. in 1974 from the University of Washington. He is a member of Landye Bennett Blumstein, LLP in Anchorage Alaska. His practice areas include Alaska Native Law, Corporate Law, and Municipal Law. He is the author of Alaska Natives and American Laws, Second Edition (2002), an often-cited treatise describing the application of federal law to Alaska Natives as well as several articles on related topics. In 1998 the Alaska Federation of Natives recognized him with its “Denali Award” for “dedication and service to the Alaska Native community.” In 2005 the law school alumni board named him an honorary alumnus of Lewis & Clark. He joined the board to encourage the law school to develop an Indian Law curriculum that would be responsive to the unique business and resource concerns of Alaska and Alaska Natives. “I have always been impressed that when the board ‘visits’, the administration ‘listens.’ Nowhere is this more evident that in the school’s creative development of its still evolving Indian Law program.
