Mr. Thomas W. Brown

Thom Brown is the managing partner for Cosgrave Vergeer Kester LLP. His practice focuses on civil appeals in state and federal courts, insurance coverage opinions and litigation, and professional liability defense. Thom is an approved mediator for the Oregon Court of Appeals’ settlement program, and an approved arbitrator for Multnomah County Circuit Court and Arbitration Service of Portland. He is past chair of the Classroom Law Project’s Board of Directors and is president elect of the board of the Multnomah Bar Association. Thom is a member of numerous bar organizations, including the U. S. District Court of Oregon Historical Society and the Oregon Association of Defense Counsel. He is one of the 270 fellows nationwide of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers. Thom earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Texas and his J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School’s night program in 1980. As a member of the Board of Visitors, Mr. Brown hopes to help facilitate and manage change at the law school while still preserving the things he loved most about the night program.
