Internships

Clinical internships are a great way to get real-world legal experience while attending law school and taking other classes. Interns attend a weekly seminar and receive 3 hours of academic credit in exchange for at least 10 hours of work per week.

Clinical Internship Seminar: Environmental and Natural Resources

The environmental internships focus on environmental protection. Part-time placements depend on the student's interests and abilities. Each student is paired with a practicing environmental or natural resources lawyer in the Portland area. Placements have included many municipal, state, and federal agencies; corporations; law firms; advocacy groups; and the Oregon legislature and governor’s office.

Clinical Internship Seminar: Natural Resource Development for the Small Operator

These internships, which also feature a weekly seminar and part-time placement, focus on counseling small natural resource developers (farmers, ranchers, small businesses) in negotiating the sometimes complex world of environmental regulation. Students work for firms, organizations, or sole practitioners representing small resource users.
