The 3:30-4:30 p.m. benefit concert features  Martin Zarzar and Luciana Proaño, Peruvian dancer and gifted artist.  This promises to be an extraordinary concert, as Martin–born  in Lima, Peru, and raised in South America, Europe, and the United States– is a multi-instrumentalist and song writer,  widely known as a member of Pink Martini.  Martin will be performing with Luciana Proaño, his mother, who is dedicated to multidisciplinary and cross cultural work.

We have scheduled this benefit concert for April 7, the United Nations Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Rwanda Genocide. This day commemorates the deaths of 800,000 people who were murdered during the 1994 genocide in Rwanda, central Africa.

The concert will be followed at 4:30 p.m. by a complimentary reception in the Evans Auditorium lobby hosted by Academic English Studies

At  5 p.m., please join us in Evans Auditorium for an encore film screening of Komora: to heal, co-produced by Dallaire Scholar Emmanuel Habamina, along with Natalia Ledford, independent filmmaker and National Geographic Young Explorer.  Natalia will be joining Emmanuel for the Q/A following the screening.

Suggested ticket price for concert, reception, and film screening:  $20 public/ $10 student.   Preferred payment at the door by cash or check (to Lewis & Clark College).  All proceeds benefit production costs of Komora: to heal.

On campus parking will be free and plentiful.  Enter at Gate 2 and follow the signs to Evans Auditorium.

We invite your registration in advance (with ticket payment at the door), as we anticipate a substantial turnout for this very special benefit concert, reception, and film screening.
