Common Core State Standards in Mathematics

This workshop for teachers of grades K-8, will build your understanding of the organization of the Common Core State Standards in Mathematics (CCSSM) and experience how the content progresses through the grades.
Participants will explore standards at their grade level in depth and view Exemplars of the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium.

About the Instructors
Ann McMahon is a retired PPS teacher with a M.A.T. degree from Lewis & Clark College. She’s a member of the Oregon Council of Teachers of Mathematics Board. She substitutes, works as a supervisor for Lewis & Clark interns in the graduate school, and facilitates professional development for the Professional Development Cadre. Ann is an author of Making Sense of Problem Solving for K-5 teachers.
Roxanne Malter has been a middle school mathematics teacher in the Portland metro area for thirty-five years. She also serves on the board of the Oregon Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Currently, she is writing and presenting workshops for the Professional Development Cadre, supervising interns for Lewis & Clark College, and instructing at Portland State University in the Graduate School of Education program for Elementary Mathematics Instructional Leaders.
