Produced by award-winning composer/performer Milen Slavov, and supported in part by the Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC), World Music Celebration provides something for everyone in this event dedicated to all who are open to diverse musical culture.

Family Presentation (Section 1, 1-2pm) is a cross-cultural experience introducing children and families to the rich musical heritage of Bulgaria. The Slavov Bulgarian Trio will perform and demonstrate, then teach a song and dance to the entire audience.

The Dance (Section II, 2:30-4:30pm) live international music, authentically presented, for experienced folk dancers and beginners to participate in lively and colorful traditional dances. Music from Bulgaria, Macedonia, Serbia, Romania, Russia, Ukraine and Moldova presented by the WMC International Band.

The Concert (Section III, 8-10pm) original world music is presented in an evening concert of new works by gifted composer Milen Slavov. The compositions are based in the composer’s Bulgarian heritage and artistically interwoven with strong elements from classical and jazz music. This innovative style performed by the World Music Celebration Ensemble combines the unearthly beauty of Balkan vocals, the exotic sound of ethnic instruments, and the warmth of classical instruments.
