Dr. Violet Oaklander is a pioneer of child and adolescent therapy. Her text Windows to our Children: A Gestalt Therapy Approach to Children and Adolescents presents a model of working with children and adolescents in the therapeutic setting that has influenced practitioners worldwide. This text is published in ten languages –English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Serbo-Croatian, Croatian, Russian, Chinese, Hebrew, and German. Dr. Oaklander is currently supervising and consulting with therapists who work with children and adolescents as well as working on a follow-up to her first book.

Peter Mortola is an Associate Professor of School and Counseling Psychology at the Graduate School of Education, Lewis & Clark College. He has been assisting Dr. Oaklander in her trainings for the past ten years, and will soon publish a book on her methods of training adults to work therapeutically with children and adolescents.
