Two Lewis &\; Clark College piano students will perform in this exciting program. Oona McCa rthy–Prelude in G# minor\, Op. 32\, No. 12\, by Rachmaninoff Monyah Gu irma-Intermezzo\, Op. 116\, No. 6\, by Brahms Oregon Repertory Singers i s an internationally recognized 65-voice ensemble founded in 1974 and led by Artistic Director Gilbert Seeley. ORS performs an extensive choral re pertoire with a special emphasis on new music by American composers. With in the greater Portland\, Oregon region\, the chorus is will known for it s "impeccable dynamics\," "a fine blend and sense of style\," "a clear\, unforced sound\," and "a tradition of offering unheard-of delights." The Oregonian The Oregonian Arts Commission News writes\, "Under (Seeley's) d irection ORS has become a top-tanked choral ensemble through its unsurpas sed interpretations of music that crosses international\, cultural\, and time boundaries." Performances are consistently met with the highest prai se: "This is choral programming at its best." The Oregonian ORS has earn ed international acclaim through its awards in the International Choral F estival. These include first prize in two categories at Spittal\, Austria in 1987 and first prize at Neuchatel\, Switzerland in 1991. ORS returned to European festivals in Croatia and France in summer of 1998.
